Ewe's News SOCTOBER

Welcome to the first Ewe's Newsletter

Well, this is the first newsletter from the new system anyway...
September marked officially 5 years in business for our little store! It was a very exciting month with several fun events to celebrate. One of the biggest challenges of the month was a BIG internal change, a new system for all of our sales, marketing, and website. Some of these changes are still being worked on, such as making our products available on our website for easy purchasing from anywhere. Some of the changes benefit you such as our new rewards program and birthday coupons! You will also receive emailed receipts and product update emails. If you ever find that these extra emails make you crazy or cram up your inbox, please let me know and I will do what I can to change them. I want you to be in touch and informed but not driven crazy by over-communication.

It has been decided that from October through the end of March we will be open on Fridays until 5 p.m. We hope this adds a little more convenience of shopping time for everyone to prepare for their weekend projects. Also, the plan is to add 1 Sunday a month that we will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. during October, November, and December. These dates are October 29th, November 26th, and December 10th.

I know we have only begun having some sweater weather, but Mother Nature has her own agenda, so always call or check social media for any weather-related closing notifications.

So with all that admin stuff out of the way, what's going on in October?

"Socktober"

October is traditionally "sock" tober, the month of socks! This month bring on new socks for our collection and at the end of the month, they will be donated to one of the local shelters. There are sock collection sites all over town. These socks help those in need stay warm all winter.

For those looking for some inspiration for hand-knit socks, check out one of the NEW books just received in the shop, "Charming Colorwork Socks". I am knitting the "I'm batty for Halloween" Socks. These are already becoming the best colorwork socks and I've only finished 1. If you want to try colorwork knitting I highly recommend this book.

If you have always wanted to learn socks, now is a great time! Book a lesson with me, after all, it is SOCKTOBER!!!!

Thursday, October 12th is Knit Night at Luppoleto Brewery. Please join us for a fun night out where we can just hang out, have fun, and make stuff. This month's food truck is Gula Brazillian Grill. There is also Chinese Food and pizza available in the plaza. The Taproom has beer, hard cider, wine, locally made sodas, and snacks.

Saturday, October 13th is Needle Felting Class at Luppoleto Brewery. This month's project is a happy Jack O'Lantern. If you are interested in making this fun new friend sign up at this link, https://luppoleto.square.site/product/needle-felting-class-with-ewe-you-fiber-arts/348 or visit Luppoleto.com/events. The class is $28 and includes all the materials you need plus a beverage of your choice. It's always a fun night out and if you are hungry too the King of Pearl food truck will be there too!
