Sunday Sundaes' and Yarn Tasting Event

Sunday, March 10th at Noon, we will be hosting a yarn tasting featuring Berroco Yarns' new spring line. What is a yarn tasting? It is a fun event where you come hungry with your needles or hook of choice and get ready to cast on 6 different mini balls of different featured yarns. Each person will receive an organza bag, menu, mini balls, a Berroco catalog and Newsletter, as well as a sheep sticker and a 50% pattern coupon. There will also be a door prize that includes yarn to make a project using one of the tasting yarns and a Spring '24 pattern book.

Just to make it more fun, we will also have little ice cream sundaes to taste!

Please call to sign up, space is limited to 15 people. The cost is 20 per person

There will be no KAL or CAL in March, see what we have in store for April...

KNIT NIGHT and NEEDLE FELTING

Knit Night is open to everyone no matter what kind of maker you are!  Join us on March 14th, the 2nd Thursday of the month for great drinks, maybe your favorite food truck, and of course fiber fun! It starts at 6:30 pm!!!!

This month's food truck for Knit Night is Fat City Kid!

Our needle felting class will be on Saturday the 23rd at 6:30 pm and we are making Lucky Llama Pocket Pets. Our Llama friend is made using a cookie cutter to get the basic shape but with a few great tricks to make him adorable and fun. Hopefully, he will bring you lots of good luck when you carry him with you. I will also have options to make him into a pin or magnet. Sign-up will be available on Luppoleto's website. The food truck that night is King of Pearl.

The Stash Swap Sale is coming!!!!

It's time for the Annual Stash Swap Sale and we are very excited to sponsor Connecticut Cat Connection!

Each year we receive donations for many reasons. Mostly yarn, but also some fabric, books, and bags. Sometimes full kits for sweaters, toys, whatever. Some of these donations become other items like hats that also get donated. But we can not use it all! SO we share it with you!!!

Everything is bagged with other like things, and priced anywhere from $1 to $50 and the occasional $70 bag if it's REALLY good!

There is a ton of stuff this year! I hope it all fits in the shop!

Swap Sale Hours are:

FRIDAY 3/15 6:30pm to 9pm (These are special after shop hours)

SATURDAY 3/16 10am to 5pm

SUNDAY 3/17 11am to 4pm

This is a CASH ONLY EVENT and proceeds will go to Connecticut Cat Connection in Windsor.

We will also collect donations for CCC in any cat-related items.

Own a piece of Windsor History and Support a Local Cause

In addition to the Stash Swap Sale, we are raffling off this blanket during March. In last month's newsletter, I shared a little story about it. Here it is again in case you missed it.

Around Ewe & You, Pat is our "local historian" and that is especially true when it comes to yarn shops in Windsor. The pieces of the blanket show above were started by Barbara the owner of Knits 'n Knots which was on Poquonock Ave in the 80's. Pat was friends with Barbara and even worked there. On a recent visit to see her friend, Pat was given some boxes of yarn and books to add to the stash sale. The squares and some additional yarn were in one of the boxes. As someone who appreciates heirlooms, I wanted to complete this piece and see it be enjoyed for a long time to come. Being a part of Windsor's History and being able to bring that full circle is something I want to share. The best way I knew how was to share the opportunity to own the blanket with everyone.

Tickets will be available for $2 each or 6 for $10 and are cash only!

Tickets can be purchased throughout March at Ewe &You, The Bean 226, House of Books and Games, Selig Antiques, and Luppoleto Brewery. The winner will be announced on April 1st.

Good Luck and Thank You!

The "Stash Swap Sale" is cash only and the proceeds for this and the afghan raffle will go to Connecticut Cat Connection.

If you have something to donate for the sale, please drop it off anytime before the sale.

Knit Socks from a Tube Workshop #2

Since there was so much interest in how to turn a sock tube into a pair of socks I will be offering this class again. This class will be held on Sunday, April 7th from 11 am to 3 pm.

This will include the already knit sock tube and a ball of contrasting color of your choice. You will need to bring size 1 or 1.5 needles of your choice (some found a long circular was easiest), some sharp scissors, a darning needle, and your knitting skills. This is not a beginner class but if you can knit and k2tog with confidence you can do it!

The workshop is $130 and requires registration. The yarn for the class is Laine Du Nord Watercolor Sock and Katia United Socks for the contrast. Sign up deadline is March 30th so I have time to make the tubes. The class is limited to 6 people.

We will continue to be OPEN one Sunday a month. The Sunday we are open in March is the 17th from 11am to 4pm. This is also the final day of the Stash Swap Sale!!!

Hope to see you then!
